They provide protection from UV rays, rainfall and help to prevent wind, leaves, dust etc from entering your outdoor entertaining area – also commonly used to provide privacy.

Crank Blind (roof to fence) – How to operate

Installation of 3 crank blinds and showing the simple operation. Using the Crank handle, it is inserted into the gearbox operation of this Outdoor Blind. The crank is then simply rotated to put the blind down or up, and to retract it. Then the blind is tied off in position using either straps or dog clips.

What is the maximum width of a roof to fence (crank) blind?

5.8m is the maximum width of our roof to fence blind, we suggest not going over 2.5m projection but under certain circumstances can go up to 3.6m projection/drop.

Can these be used fixed at multiple locations. Ie used as a straight drop blind or a roof to fence?

Yes – The main advantage of these blinds are they are not a track mounted system, so therefore can be attached at any point you desire.

Can I leave Crank blinds down on windy days?

The crank and clip blinds are not as strong as the ziptrak blinds, it all depends on the size of your blind and the installation location but we would recommend winds not exceeding 50km/hr

Are the crank blinds waterproof?

Yes you can choose waterproof material for your crank blind and most people would. They are also designed to hang slightly off the wall or fence so that rain water goes down the blind and down your side of the boundary wall.

To apply, lower the blind all the way and apply the spray in the groove between the spline and the track. Do this for the front of the blind only, on both the left and right sides. After lubrication, open and close the blind several times.

Cleaning

Do not use window cleaning detergents to clean the PVC. Clean the blind with Swiftee® outdoor blind cleaner. Do not allow dirt or stains to remain on the PVC for long periods of time.

After Installation

You may need to leave the blinds down for several days to allow the material to settle.
